On Tuesday, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and VMware announced to team up to provide composable infrastructure with the basis of HPE Synergy as well as VMware Cloud Foundation, which is briefly called VMware Cloud Foundation on HPE Synergy. HPE and VMware are to sell this integrated cloud solution as the first composable platform in the industry, by utilizing VMware’s SDDC platform. The two sides announced this new product at VMworld in Las Vegas.

As a matter of fact, this new product is about hybrid cloud, which is offered to attract more enterprise customers. As HPE introduced, this solution is guaranteed to simplify the transformations to hybrid infrastructure in the means of enabling 1-click deployment of private and traditional cloud workloads, while allowing infrastructure to be reallocated in a few minutes.

HPE’s senior vice president and general manager of Software-Defined & Cloud Group ever said in a statement, which is about that on current competitive digital market, enterprises all need technologies which can help them quickly scale and introduce new products or services. Well, now this HPE Synergy with VMware Cloud Foundation can offer them private cloud experience which can make IT be the internal service provider, also it can help enterprise quickly respond to their business needs with 1-click DevOps delivery.

HPE and VMware did not disclose more information about how this new solution works in practice, but it gives a general picture making it look like a really natural pairing.

As for HPE Synergy, it was released in 2015 as an all-in-one hardware service, combining network equipment, storage, and compute in one single chassis. Besides, HPE Synergy also includes the management software which can automatically configure hardware to offer the resources needed for an application. More importantly, HPE Synergy includes auto discovery capability, fluid resource pool, and built-in software intelligence, which all can make users instantly boot up their infrastructure for running virtual, physical and containerized applications.

As for VMware Cloud Foundation, it is the SDDC platform of VMware, specifically for hybrid cloud, which is developed on VMware’s network virtualization, compute and storage. It offers a local integrated software stack used on premises for deploying private cloud. Also, it can be run as a service from public cloud.

The integration of HPE Synergy and VMware Cloud Foundation can offer an excellent solution that can consolidate private, traditional, as well as cloud native workloads to an integrated infrastructure only which is easy to operate and deploy. With the new solution, enterprises can enjoy its extremely dynamic and programmable infrastructure foundation eliminating traditional deployments’ operational overhead, due to the new lifecycle automation capability.

At the announcement, HPE disclosed that the integrated solution is likely to be available in the later of this year. What’s more, customers can make full use of HPE Flexible Capacity that provides them with pay-as-you-go system and on-demand capacity.
