Microsoft was reported to make a global-scale job cuts, and Microsoft had admitted that the news was true and the company would make a significant reorganization in its global sales division. If this is done, there would be thousands of people were dismissed. According to Microsoft, this major step is mainly a change in Microsoft strategy, to more focus on its Cloud business. The outside also think this is a right time for change. 

CenturyLink this week announced that the company and SAP has reached an agreement, and it becomes an authorized premium supplier for the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud in the Asia Pacific area. The latest SAP cloud services can help local businesses to accelerate their digital transformation journey. 

China’s large tech firm Alibaba Group released a low-cost voice assistance speaker, named Tmall Genie, which is very similar to Amazon’s Echo. This is the first foray of Alibaba in the artificially intelligent home devices. Tmall Genie is only $73.42 each, and much less than its western counterparts, Amazon and Google. 

Baidu held Baidu Create 2017 this week, and announce several significant partnerships and future development strategies. It has signed up an agreement with Nvidia and a series of Chinese major car manufactures, to move forward to autonomous vehicles, which will be based on AI cloud computing platform.

The worldwide famous security solutions and SSL certificate provider Symantec announced that it has bought Israel-based cybersecurity company Fireglass. This company is famous for its browser isolation tech which can help businesses combat ransomware, phishing threats and malwarein the means of reducing their attack surface.
